Elderly Woman Seriously Hurt in Head-On Crash in Millsboro, DE

Millsboro, DE (October 26, 2026) – According to Delaware State Police, two vehicles collided head-on on Long Neck Road near Pot Nets Road on Friday, Oct. 23, around 7 p.m.

Police said a Jeep Comanche was traveling northbound on Long Neck Road when a Hyundai Tucson came toward it in the northbound lane without its headlights on. The Jeep driver tried to avoid the Hyundai, but the vehicles crashed head-on, according to investigators.

The Jeep’s driver, a 53-year-old Millsboro man, was taken to an area hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The Hyundai’s driver, a 72-year-old Millsboro woman, was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company responded to help with cleanup, patient stabilization and traffic control, and the Delaware Department of Transportation sent crews with sand and a street sweeper, according to police.

Police said that once the woman is released from the hospital, she will face charges including seventh-offense driving under the influence and second-degree vehicular assault, along with related traffic charges.
