Delmar, DE – UPDATE: Wilder Linares-Chilel Identified in BiState Blvd. Crash

According to troopers, 27-year-old Wilder Linares-Chilel was killed in the crash. Troopers say that Linares-Chilel was riding a motorized skateboard on BiState near Allens Mill Road when he was struck by a white 2018 Hyundai Tucson. Linares-Chilel landed on the car’s windshield before coming to rest in the northbound lanes of the road. The Tucson continued on and struck a mailbox before coming to rest.

Linares-Chilel was taken to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Tucson, a 21-year-old woman from Fruitland, Maryland, was not injured in the collision. The road was closed for about four hours while police investigated the accident. There is no word on whether any charges will be filed.

The crash remains under investigation. No further details have been released at this time.
