Newark, DE (February 5, 2023) – A 57-year-old Newark man was killed in an accident on Friday night, February 3rd. The crash happened around 6:45 p.m. on New Linden Hill Road near the Polly Drummond Shopping Center.
According to Cpl. Jason Hatchell of the Delaware State Police, Patric Marchioni, was driving a Toyota Rav-4 out of the shopping center. Marchioni made a turn to enter the road and was struck by a Cadillac SRX that was traveling eastbound on New Linden Hill Road. Marchioni suffered critical injuries and died at the accident scene. The 25-year-old driver of the SRX was taken to a hospital to be treated for undisclosed injuries. There were no other vehicles or drivers involved in the collision.
The Delaware State Police continue to investigate the accident at this time. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed. No further details have been released.
