Wreck Kills Teen, Hurts Woman on Stanton Christiana Rd in Newark, DE
Newark, DE (July 19, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash killed a 17-year-old boy and injured a woman on Stanton Christiana Road in Newark on Saturday, July 18. The collision occurred around 10:45 p.m.
As reported by the authorities, the teen drove a Toyota Camry southwest on Stanton Christiana Road as he approached Old Stanton Christiana Road and rounded a curve. At the same time, a 46-year-old Middletown woman drove a Toyota Sienna northeast in the center lane. The Camry lost control, crossed into the Sienna’s path, and struck the front of the minivan with its passenger side.
Emergency units assisted both drivers and took them to nearby hospitals. The teen, who was alone in the Camry, later died from his injuries. The Sienna driver received care for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Officials have not released the teen’s name while they notify his family. Crews kept Stanton Christiana Road closed for about three hours while they cleared the roadway.
