Overview
Philip Edwards is a Delaware trial lawyer with a proven record in complex personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. A Brooklyn native, he earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston and graduated cum laude from Widener Law School.
Before joining Murphy & Landon, Mr. Edwards litigated complex medical malpractice cases at Wilson Elser in New York, including multimillion-dollar disputes involving major New York City hospitals. He also gained early courtroom experience through clerkships with Justice Joseph T. Walsh of the Delaware Supreme Court and the Delaware County, Pennsylvania District Attorney’s Office.
Since joining Murphy & Landon in 2003, Mr. Edwards has helped deliver substantial results for injured clients, including verdicts of $2.4 million in Caldwell v. White, $2.8 million in Gates v. Texaco, $3.4 million in a Delaware medical negligence trial, and a landmark $100 million verdict against Boston Scientific involving vaginal mesh products. He has also secured multiple seven- and eight-figure settlements in medical negligence, insurance, property damage, and child injury matters, including a recent eight-figure settlement involving injuries to a child resulting from medical negligence by the hospital.
