Dewey Beach, DE (August 11, 2024) – A serious four-car crash on Coastal Hwy near King Charles Ave late Friday night resulted in multiple injuries and serious charges against a Lewes man. The Dewey Beach Police Department reported that the accident occurred at approximately 10:07 p.m. involving four vehicles.
According to the Dewey Beach Police, Kenneth Pedro Quezada, 37, of Lewes, driving a blue 2021 Audi Q3, was allegedly speeding in rainy conditions when he lost control of his vehicle. The car entered a median, causing significant damage and striking multiple traffic signs before crashing into other cars on King Charles Ave.
The collision resulted in one person sustaining serious injuries, including broken bones, while others suffered lacerations and contusions. Three victims were transported to Beebe Medical Center for treatment.
Quezada, who sustained minor injuries, faced a DUI investigation. He refused field sobriety tests and a breath test, leading to a blood search warrant. Charges against him include Felony Vehicular Assault, Criminal Mischief, and DUI-related offenses.
