Milford, DE (July 11, 2025) – One person died and two others were injured in a serious crash involving four vehicles on Friday, July 11.
Around 7:33 a.m., a Chevrolet Tahoe was driving north on Rte 1 near Bakerfield Rd. As the driver approached a curve, the vehicle crossed the center median, spun, and entered the southbound lanes. It collided head-on with a Chrysler Town & Country minivan traveling in the opposite direction.
The impact was so strong it separated the Tahoe’s engine. Moments later, a Subaru Forester hit the rear of the minivan, and a Chrysler 200 struck the detached engine.
The 71-year-old man driving the Town & Country, from Kennett Square, PA, died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his name.
The Tahoe’s driver, a 31-year-old man from Frederica, DE, was rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The Forester’s driver, a 36-year-old woman from Doylestown, PA, suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the Chrysler 200, a 34-year-old woman from Dover, was not hurt.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
We extend our heartfelt wishes for healing and recovery to those injured in this accident.
Car Accidents in Milford and Across Delaware
Delaware, despite its small size, has a high number of serious car accidents each year. Major roads like Rte 1 can become dangerous quickly, especially when drivers lose control or become distracted. Milford is no stranger to fatal collisions, especially at busy intersections and stretches of highway like the one where this recent crash occurred.
High-speed crashes often lead to tragic outcomes, including fatalities and life-altering injuries. In many cases, accident victims and their families must deal with overwhelming medical bills, extended time off work, and emotional trauma. In such situations, working with a Wilmington accident lawyer or a Delaware car accident attorney can help ease the burden.
A personal injury lawyer can investigate the cause of the crash, talk to witnesses, and review police reports. They can help determine who is responsible and fight for fair compensation on behalf of victims. This may include damages for medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, or wrongful death claims in the event of a fatality.
Some of the most common causes of major crashes include speeding, distracted driving, impaired driving, and failure to obey traffic laws. Even when another driver does not intend harm, careless actions can have deadly results.
Families of those seriously hurt or killed often feel lost and overwhelmed after a crash. That’s where a knowledgeable personal injury attorney in Delaware can step in. Their job is not only to represent victims in court but also to support them throughout the recovery process.
