Dover, DE – 56-Year-Old Woman Killed When Car Crashes Into Home on Forrest St.

Dover, DE (May 30, 2024) – A woman was killed in a crash that occurred in Dover on Tuesday, May 28th. The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. on Forrest Street.

According to a report from the Delaware State Police, a Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Forrest Avenue near Artis Drive at a high rate of speed. The driver failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the roadway before striking a mailbox and crashing into a residence on Forrest Avenue. The vehicle came to rest inside the residence and struck a 56-year-old female occupant of the home. The woman suffered severe injuries and was rushed to an area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the collision. At this time, the victim of the crash has not been identified. The road was closed for about three hours while the accident was investigated.
