Milton, DE (June 8, 2025) – A crash unfolded in Milton on the afternoon of June 6, leaving a 74-year-old woman from Ellendale dead. The fatal two-vehicle collision occurred around 4:32 p.m. near the intersection of Mulberry Street and Milton-Ellendale Highway.
According to the Delaware State Police, a Ford Bronco was heading north on Mulberry Street when it entered the intersection, passing a posted stop sign. At that moment, a Sussex County EMS Chevrolet Suburban, responding to an emergency with lights and sirens activated, was traveling westbound on Milton-Ellendale Highway. The Suburban struck the passenger side of the Bronco, causing it to spin clockwise and crash into a nearby tree.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported the driver of the Bronco to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have chosen to withhold her name until her family can be properly informed. The driver of the EMS Suburban, a 38-year-old Sussex County paramedic, was also taken to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The intersection was closed for nearly three hours as officials worked to investigate and clear the wreckage. Police are continuing to review the details of the crash.
