Wilmington, DE (August 3, 2023) – A total of 11 people suffered injuries in a multi-car accident in Wilmington. The crash happened on Thursday, August 3rd, at the intersection of New Castle Avenue and Rogers Road.
According to police, the accident involved an SUV, a pickup truck, and a passenger van. Nine people were aboard the passenger van at the time of the crash. Five of the victims were trapped inside the van after the collision and had to be extricated by firefighters. All nine people in the van were taken to Christiana Hospital with injuries ranging from minor to critical. The driver of the pickup truck, a 52-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in serious condition, while the 88-year-old SUV driver was transported to Wilmington Hospital with moderate injuries.
