According to officials, a 42-year-old man from Chester, PA, was traveling eastbound on the Philadelphia Pike in a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta when he slowed to a near the White Glove Car Wash. At the same time, a 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling westbound on the same road at what was described as a high rate of speed. The driver of the Jetta tried to make a left turn into the car wash but was hit by the oncoming pickup truck. The Jetta was pushed off the road due to the impact of the crash and struck a 2011 Mercedes-Benz that was sitting in the parking lot of the car wash.
The driver of the Jetta died at the accident scene. A 34-year-old female passenger in the pickup truck was also killed in the crash. The driver of the Ram, along with another passenger, were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. None of the accident victims have been identified at this time.
Police are still looking into the crash. There is no word on whether any charges will be filed.
