New Castle, DE (January 20, 2023) – Troopers with the Delaware State Police were dispatched to the scene of a serious accident on Friday, January 20th. The accident was first reported at approximately 9:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Route 7 just south of Route 40.
According to police, the crash was described as being serious in nature, with resulting injuries to at least one person. The injured victim was treated at the scene before they were taken to a local hospital for additional treatment. Police closed Route 7 for an extended period of time while the crash was investigated. There is no information on what caused the accident to happen at this time. Traffic was diverted as officials worked in the area. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes of travel.
