Wilmington, DE (September 17, 2025) – A 4-month-old boy died early Tuesday morning, September 16, after a crash involving a driver fleeing from police on I-95.
Authorities reported that officers attempted to pull over the 33-year-old driver around 1:15 a.m., but he sped off and lost control near the Marsh Rd exit. The vehicle struck a fence and brick columns, causing severe damage.
Police said four people were inside the car at the time. The infant, later identified as Maurice Brown Jr., was not restrained and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died. A 32-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl also suffered injuries but are listed in stable condition. The driver remains hospitalized in critical condition.
