Newark, DE (August 23, 2025) – A deadly two-vehicle crash occurred on Friday afternoon, August 22, at the intersection of Bear Christiana Road and Freedom Road. The collision happened around 3:23 p.m. and brought a major emergency response.
Investigators said a maroon Chevrolet Trax was turning left onto Freedom Road when a southbound BMW 335, racing at high speed, slammed into its front passenger side. The force of the crash left both drivers injured.
Paramedics rushed the 75-year-old Chevrolet driver from Newark to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities have not released his name pending family notification. The BMW driver, a 49-year-old Newark man, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
