
New Castle County, DE (August 9, 2025) – Three individuals were hospitalized following a motor vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, on West Basin Road near Jay Drive.
According to reports from the Delaware State Police, the crash involved two vehicles: a sedan and a minivan. New Castle County Paramedics, along with units from Wilmington Manor Fire Company, Goodwill Fire Company, and the Delaware Air National Guard Fire Company, responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found the two vehicles had collided, and three individuals were injured. An approximately 80-year-old woman, who was an occupant of the sedan, sustained serious injuries, including trauma to her head and extremities and possible internal injuries. She was treated by New Castle County paramedics at the scene and then transported in serious condition aboard a Wilmington Manor ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton for further treatment.
Another woman, around 70 years old, was also in the sedan and sustained extremity injuries. She was transported by Goodwill Fire Company in stable condition and was also evaluated for potential internal injuries.
A third patient, who was in the minivan, was transported by a basic life support ambulance to Christiana Hospital. Details regarding this individual’s condition have not been released. The Delaware State Police is investigating the cause of the crash.
