Rollover Accidents in Delaware
Rollover crashes are among the most dangerous types of vehicle accidents, even when the injuries seem minor. These accidents often happen on rural roads, like those near Georgetown, where high speeds, limited visibility, or sharp curves increase the risk. A sudden swerve to avoid an obstacle, a tire blowout, or distracted driving can cause a driver to lose control, leading to a rollover. In single-vehicle rollovers, the cause can sometimes be tied to vehicle design flaws, hazardous road conditions, or driver error.
In Delaware, rollover accidents are not as common as rear-end or side-impact crashes, but they are much more likely to result in serious or fatal injuries. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that rollover crashes, while making up a small percentage of total vehicle accidents, account for nearly one-third of all vehicle occupant fatalities nationwide. Even when survivors escape with what appear to be minor injuries, they may later experience chronic pain, nerve damage, or long-term mobility issues that impact their ability to work or enjoy everyday life.
After a crash like this, it’s essential for victims to consider their legal options. Working with a personal injury attorney can help ensure fair compensation for emergency care, long-term treatment, lost wages, and emotional suffering. Some injuries, like soft tissue damage or concussions, may not show symptoms right away. An experienced car accident attorney can guide victims through medical evaluations, document injuries, and handle insurance companies that may try to minimize or deny claims.
Legal representation is also important when a crash may have been caused by external factors—such as a poorly maintained road, a defective vehicle part, or another driver’s actions. A detailed investigation can uncover liability and help prove who is responsible. A knowledgeable car accident lawyer from Murphy & Landon can protect your rights and make sure no critical details are missed during the claims process.
