Farmington, DE (November 3, 2023) – Troopers with the Delaware State Police responded to the scene of a fatal crash on Thursday evening, November 2nd. The accident happened around 6:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes of South Dupont Highway.
According to reports from the scene, a 33-year-old Milton woman was walking in the northbound lanes of the highway when she was hit by a passing vehicle that was also traveling northbound. The woman, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead by first responders. The vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene before authorities could arrive. There were no other vehicles or individuals involved in the accident.
Police closed the road for several hours while they investigated the crash. During this time, motorists were advised to avoid the scene and to find alternate routes of travel if possible.
