Newark, DE - Crash with Injuries on Rte. 4 at Harmony Rd.

Christina, DE (May 28, 2023) – Police in the Newark area were dispatched to the scene of a serious car accident on Sunday morning, May 28th. The accident took place around 4:30 a.m. on the Christina Parkway.

According to officials, two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on the Parkway when one of them crossed the double yellow line and struck the other head-on. Both drivers suffered injuries in the crash. Paramedics discovered a 38-year-old man trapped inside his car following the crash. Officials spent about 45 minutes providing treatment at the scene before the victim was rushed to a local hospital.

The 24-year-old driver of the other car was treated for lower body injuries and was also transported for treatment. Neither of the motorists involved were identified. There is no word on what caused the crash to occur.

The road was closed for nearly 5 hours while an investigation was conducted. There is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed. No further information has been released.
