New Castle, DE (October 17, 2022) – Police in New Castle responded to the scene of a crash involving two pickup trucks on Saturday, October 15th. The accident happened in the southbound lanes of DuPont Highway.
According to reports, one truck was traveling on DuPont while the other was in the northbound lanes of Hyetta Corner Road. The first truck left the road and traveled into a grass median. The truck traveled directly into the path of the second truck, causing a collision. The driver of the second truck, a 67-year-old man, died at the accident scene from his injuries. He has not been identified at this time.
The driver of the first truck, along with a passenger, suffered serious injuries in the accident. The road was closed for nearly four hours while an investigation was ongoing. Reconstruction experts continue to look into the accident. There is no word on what caused the crash to occur.
