Two Killed in Crash on Milford Harrington Hwy in Milford, DE

Milford, DE (June 27, 2026) – Two people were killed on Friday night, June 26, after a wreck on Milford Harrington Highway near Church Hill Road in Milford. The accident happened at about 9:15 p.m.

Authorities reported that a Ford Mustang was traveling west on Milford Harrington Highway at a high rate of speed as it approached Church Hill Road. At the same time, a Nissan Rogue had turned right onto westbound Milford Harrington Highway from Church Hill Road.

The front of the Mustang hit the rear of the Nissan. The force sent the Nissan spinning before it overturned into a utility pole and caught fire.

The driver and passenger in the Nissan died at the scene. Their names were not released while relatives were being notified.

The Mustang driver, a 36-year-old Harrington man, was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Milford Harrington Highway stayed closed for about four hours while troopers examined the roadway and gathered evidence.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the wreck and asks anyone with information to contact them.

We extend our sincere condolences to the families mourning this loss, and we hope the injured driver receives the care needed.

Who Can File a Wrongful Death Claim in Milford, DE?

Two Killed in Crash on Milford Harrington HwyA spouse, child, parent, or another eligible family member may be able to file a wrongful death claim in Milford after a fatal car accident. Delaware law has rules about who can bring this type of claim. The right person to file depends on the family relationship and the facts of the case.

After a deadly rear-end collision, close relatives may have questions about funeral costs, lost income, and household support. A wrongful death claim can also address the emotional and financial changes that follow a sudden loss. Each claim depends on the available evidence.

When the facts are still being reviewed, families should keep records connected to the crash. Medical documents, repair records, funeral expenses, and insurance letters may become important later. Clear records can make the claim easier to understand.

If speed may have contributed, the review can become more detailed. Vehicle damage, road marks, witness statements, and traffic information may help explain what happened. Families should avoid making quick decisions before those details are reviewed.

Milford sits near major routes such as Delaware Route 14, U.S. Route 113, and the Milford Bypass. These roads connect local neighborhoods with Harrington, Dover, and nearby Sussex County communities. Serious crashes in this part of Delaware can affect families across several areas.

Because wrongful death claims have rules and deadlines, it helps to understand who may file. A wrongful death lawyer can explain whether a spouse, child, parent, or another eligible family member may bring a claim. An attorney can also explain what damages may be available.

At Murphy & Landon, we help Delaware families understand their options after serious and fatal crashes. We take time to explain the process in clear terms so you can make informed decisions during a difficult time.
