Millsboro, DE – 2-Vehicle Injury Crash on Mount Joy Rd Near Maryland Camp Rd

Millsboro, DE (January 17, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash with reported injuries was reported Thursday afternoon, January 15, on Mount Joy Road near Maryland Camp Road in the Millsboro area. Emergency units were dispatched after reports of a side-impact crash with possible entrapment at the scene.

Responders arrived and began checking on the people involved while working to make the area safe. Crews stabilized the vehicles and provided care to those inside. They also confirmed that no one remained trapped in either vehicle, which limited the need for additional rescue operations.

Officials said the crash happened at the intersection, where a green Buick Enclave and a black Ford F-150 pickup truck came together. Both vehicles suffered damage from the impact. Emergency units remained on the scene to assist with patient stabilization and to address fluids and debris left in the roadway.

Traffic control was put in place as the response continued. A portion of Mount Joy Road was shut down during the incident so crews could safely work in the area. Drivers were asked to use caution and expect disruptions while emergency units cleared the scene.

At this time, authorities have not released details about how many people were hurt or how serious the injuries may be. Officials also have not shared what led up to the crash or which driver had the right of way. Updates about the condition of those involved have not been made public.

The Delaware State Police are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Our thoughts remain with those affected, and we wish everyone involved a smooth and steady recovery as they heal.

Why Side-Impact Crashes Can Cause Serious Injuries in Millsboro

Side-impact crashes, often called T-bone crashes, can lead to serious injuries because there is less protection along the side of a vehicle. When a vehicle is hit from the side, the impact may reach the driver or passenger quickly. Even at moderate speeds, the force can cause injuries that require medical attention.2-Vehicle Injury Crash on Mount Joy Rd Near Maryland Camp Rd

Common injuries from side-impact crashes include head injuries, chest trauma, back pain, and broken bones. People may also experience soreness, stiffness, or bruising that becomes noticeable later in the day. Medical visits help identify injuries early and give doctors a clear starting point for treatment.

Some people recover quickly, while others may need follow-up care, imaging, or physical therapy. Keeping medical paperwork organized can help with follow-up appointments and ongoing care. It can also help answer insurance questions that may come up after a crash.

A personal injury lawyer can help explain what options may be available after a side-impact crash. An attorney can review medical notes, insurance information, and related paperwork. This guidance can help people understand how medical bills, insurance communication, and documentation may apply to their situation.
