Who Can File a Wrongful Death Claim in Gumboro, DE?

When more than one relative is eligible, the family does not file separate wrongful death lawsuits. Delaware law allows one action, and any compensation awarded may be divided according to the loss each eligible family member experienced.
After a fatal crash, your family may seek compensation for the financial and personal effects of the death. This may include lost financial support, lost household services, funeral expenses, and the loss of care and companionship.
If a driver or company contributed to the crash, the claim must establish how that party’s actions led to the death. Depending on what happened, more than one person or business could share responsibility.
As the claim moves forward, photographs, vehicle damage, witness statements, and other records can help explain how the crash occurred. These materials may also document the financial and personal losses your family has faced.
Because wrongful death claims involve questions about eligibility, responsibility, and compensation, the process can be difficult to manage while grieving. A wrongful death lawyer can explain your rights, investigate the crash, and handle communication with insurers.
