Pike Creek, DE (July 28, 2026) – A sanitation worker suffered serious injuries after falling from a trash truck in Pike Creek on Monday morning, July 27.
According to New Castle County Police, the incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Pepper Ridge Ct in the Pepper Ridge townhouses. Authorities said the 38-year-old sanitation worker reportedly fell from a trash truck and was then run over by the vehicle.
Emergency medical personnel treated the worker at the scene before he was airlifted by a Delaware State Police helicopter to Christiana Hospital. Officials reported that he sustained two broken legs and was listed in serious condition.
