Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident at Judith Rd & Hartly Rd

Hartly, DE (December 12, 2025) – Delaware State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened on Wednesday morning in Hartly. The collision involved two vehicles at the intersection of Judith Road and Hartly Road.

Troopers said the crash occurred around 9:00 a.m. on December 10. A Honda Accord traveled east on Judith Road toward Hartly Road. At the same time, a Ford Focus moved south on Hartly Road toward the same intersection.

Investigators reported that the Honda entered the roadway from a stop sign. The vehicle moved directly into the path of the Ford. The front of the Ford then struck the driver’s side of the Honda with significant force.

Emergency responders arrived shortly after the impact. The Honda driver, a 77-year-old man from Dover, suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later identified him as Jeffrey Holloway. Officials notified his family before releasing his name.

The Ford’s driver, an 18-year-old woman from Hartly, also sustained injuries. Paramedics treated her at the scene. She declined transport to a nearby hospital for further care.

Police focused their response on injury assessment and evidence collection. Crews secured the area while investigators examined vehicle damage and roadway conditions. Troopers continue to review witness statements and physical evidence.

The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit remains assigned to the case. Authorities continue to investigate.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim, and we also hope those hurt make a swift recovery.
