Dover, DE (July 5, 2025) – A 76-year-old woman tragically died after a two-vehicle crash near Dover on Thursday, July 3, according to Delaware State Police.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Forrest Ave and Birchfield Dr. Investigators say a Honda Accord was stopped at a stop sign on Birchfield Dr, preparing to enter Forrest Ave.
At the same time, a Hyundai Veloster was traveling west on Forrest Ave, heading toward the intersection. For reasons still under investigation, the Honda pulled into the intersection and into the Hyundai’s path.
The Hyundai struck the front-right side of the Honda. The impact caused severe damage, and emergency responders were called immediately.
The 76-year-old woman in the Honda died from her injuries. Authorities have not yet released her name.
The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No other injuries were reported at the time. Troopers are continuing their investigation to determine what led to the deadly crash.
