Milford, DE (June 10, 2025) – A shocking scene unfolded on Saturday afternoon, June 7, when a vehicle crashed into the front of a Dollar Tree store in the Cypress Hall Shopping Center, injuring three individuals.
Around 3:25 p.m., a gold Hyundai Elantra was moving northbound through the parking lot near the store, located off South DuPont Boulevard. For reasons that are still unclear, the vehicle veered off its intended path and plowed directly into the storefront. The car tore through the building and came to a halt at the back of the store, striking a 97-year-old woman who had been shopping inside.
Emergency personnel responded quickly to the scene. The elderly patron was airlifted to a local hospital, where she remains in stable yet critical condition. Authorities have not released her name. The driver of the Hyundai, a 44-year-old woman, was also taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been disclosed.
In addition, a 76-year-old shopper inside the store was hurt after debris from the crash struck her. She was treated and released from the hospital after evaluation.
Milford Police are investigating the events leading up to this disturbing incident. No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation remains active. The storefront sustained extensive damage, and crews worked through the evening to secure the area and assist with cleanup.
