New Castle, DE (March 31, 2024) – Troopers with the Delaware State Police are investigating after a pedestrian was killed in New Castle on Thursday, March 28th. The crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. in the 3000 block of New Castle Avenue.
According to a report from the scene, a male and a female pedestrian were crossing the road while leaving the Super Fuel station located in 3006 New Castle Avenue. The male crossed the road first. As the female crossed, she was struck by a silver 2012 Nissan Altima traveling northbound on New Castle Avenue. The female pedestrian, later identified as Lynn Wilson, was rushed to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Nissan was not injured in the crash. The road was closed for over two hours while police cleared the crash an investigated. There is no further information available.
