Reports indicated that a Jeep Cherokee was traveling westbound on Persimmon Tree Lane. For unknown reasons, the Cherokee crossed the center and entered the eastbound lanes, colliding head-on with another vehicle. A 46-year-old Dover woman in the eastbound vehicle was critically hurt and was rushed to a local hospital. The driver of the Cherokee, an 83-year-old man from Dover, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident is being investigated. No one involved has been identified. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department.
