Dover, DE (September 6, 2023) – A head-on collision with injuries was reported in Dover on Wednesday, September 6th. The accident took place around 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of South Little Creek Road and Barrister Place.
According to a report from the scene, a Dover police officer and another driver were involved in a crash. The accident was reported as a head-on collision between the two vehicles. The Dover Fire Department along with Kent County paramedics and the troopers with the Delaware State Police all responded to the scene. The driver of the civilian vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to Christiana Hospital in serious condition. The officer did not appear to suffer major injuries and was seen assisting the civilian at the crash site.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time. Neither driver has been identified. The road was closed for several hours while police cleared the area. During this time, motorists were advised to avoid the scene and to find an alternate route of travel if possible.
