Fatal Car Accidents in Delaware
In 2021, approximately 160 people were killed in Delaware car accidents, and nearly 8,000 more were injured. A fatal crash is one of the most devastating things for family members and loved ones to have to endure. In most cases, the deceased victim was simply an innocent motorist who was minding their own business when the crash occurred. Negligent drivers play a major role in the large majority of Delaware traffic accidents and are usually responsible for the more serious collisions that take place in our state.
Police will closely investigate every car accident that occurs in order to determine how it happened and, ultimately, who should be held legally responsible for the crash. During this process, the driver who caused the accident may be charged with violating certain traffic laws. Victims and affected family members may have legal claims under Delaware law if another driver’s negligence led to the accident occurring.
Here at Murphy & Landon, we focus our practice on helping those who have been hurt by the negligence of others. We strongly believe that all victims of these types of accidents should receive full compensation for their losses. Replacing your loved one is simply not possible, however, that does not mean that negligent drivers should not be held accountable to you for the damages that they have caused.
