Tybouts Corner, DE (January 25, 2023) – A female pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash that took place in Tybouts Corner on Tuesday, January 24th. The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Route 1 southbound near Route 13 and Red Lion Creek.
New Castle County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police responded to the scene. Authorities say that the 33-year-old pedestrian was walking along Route 1 when she was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes of the roadway. The woman suffered internal injuries and a possible head injury. She was airlifted to Christiana Hospital where she is currently receiving treatment. The woman has not been identified at this time. The driver of the car was not hurt.
Police are still investigating the crash. It is unclear if any charges are expected to be filed against the driver. There is no further information available.
