Lewes, DE (January 1, 2023) – A man from Pennsylvania was killed in a crash that took place in Lewes on Friday, December 30th. The accident happened just before 10:00 p.m. on Coastal Highway, just south of Postal Lane.
According to a report from the Delaware State Police, a truck was driving southbound on Coastal Highway when the driver struck the man as he tried to cross the road. The man, who was not identified, died at the crash scene. The truck driver continued a short distance before stopping on the shoulder. The driver, a 34-year-old Lewes man, was not injured in the accident.
The road was closed for more than two hours while police investigated the accident. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and to find an alternate route of travel if possible.
